Key Responsibilities
- Build internal solutions with custom front-ends (web, mobile) and back-end services that automate business processes
- Maintain high standards of development practice, including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, and writing clean, modular, self-sustaining code
- Help partners with day-to-day challenges by delivering innovative, scalable solutions and troubleshooting problems
- Understand operational workflows, identify tool needs to enable scaling, and drive development and deployment of these tools with Engineering
- Work closely with analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Integrate third-party products into internal systems, and support and upgrade implemented systems
- Partner with internal teams to define and implement solutions that improve internal business processes
About the Role
As an Applications Engineering Intern, you’ll play a key role in developing, deploying, and supporting Google’s internal business applications. The role involves solving a range of problems — sometimes as part of a team implementing and customizing vendor-sourced enterprise software and integrating it with internal systems, and other times building custom software from scratch.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must reside in India for the full duration of the internship
- Anticipated graduation date in 2027
- Full-time availability for a 26-week internship starting January 2027 onwards
- English proficiency required for global collaboration and communication
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages
- Ability to communicate fluently in English to actively participate in technical discussions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming in Java, Python, or C++
- Experience in systems software or algorithms, as well as SQL, Spring, API development, Web Services (RESTful, SOAP), JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Available to work full-time for a minimum of 6 months outside of university term time
